Sixth Ecumenical Council
The Sixth Ecumenical Council, held in 680-681 AD, was an important meeting of Christian leaders in Constantinople. It addressed the nature of Jesus Christ, specifically the debate over his will—whether he had one or two (human and divine). The council affirmed that Jesus had two distinct wills, aligning with Christian belief in his full humanity and divinity. This decision helped clarify theological disputes and was significant for the development of Christian doctrine. It also aimed to maintain unity within the Church by resolving conflicting interpretations of Christ's nature.
