Site percolation
Site percolation is a model used to understand how something spreads through a network of interconnected points or sites, such as how a disease might spread through a population or how water moves through porous material. In this model, each site (node) on a grid or network is randomly designated as either open (allowing flow or connection) or closed (blocking it). The key question is whether there is a continuous path of open sites that connects one side of the system to the other, enabling spreading or connection across the entire network. This concept helps study thresholds and critical points in complex systems.
