Sit Skiing
Sit skiing is an adaptive winter sport designed for individuals with lower limb disabilities or mobility challenges. Participants sit in a specially engineered seat called a sit-ski or mono-ski, which is mounted on a single ski or a set of skis. Using poling sticks for propulsion and steering, they navigate down snowy slopes similarly to traditional skiing. This equipment provides stability and control while allowing the skier to enjoy the experience of skiing, emphasizing safety and independence. Sit skiing enables those with disabilities to participate in alpine skiing activities, promoting inclusion, recreation, and physical engagement on snow-covered terrain.
