SIRS Criteria
SIRS (Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) criteria are a set of signs used by healthcare professionals to identify a widespread inflammatory response in the body, which can occur due to infection, injury, or other stress. To meet SIRS criteria, a person typically shows at least two of the following: fever or low body temperature, rapid heartbeat, rapid breathing, or abnormal white blood cell counts. These signs help doctors detect early signs of serious conditions like sepsis, allowing for prompt treatment to prevent further complications.
