Sirius Star System
The Sirius star system is a close and bright stellar system located about 8.6 light-years from Earth, making it one of our nearest neighbors in the galaxy. It consists primarily of Sirius A, a luminous white main-sequence star, and Sirius B, a dense white dwarf. Sirius A is much larger and brighter than our Sun, while Sirius B, the remnant of a star that has exhausted its fuel, is much smaller but incredibly dense. Together, they orbit each other in a binary system, contributing to the star system's prominent brightness in the night sky.
