Sir Hugh Beaver
Sir Hugh Beaver was a British engineer and executive, best known for founding the Guinness Book of Records in 1955. The idea originated when he was involved in a debate about the fastest game bird in Europe while on a hunting trip. Realizing there was no reference book to settle such disputes, he conceived of compiling a collection of world records. This led to the publication of the Guinness Book of Records, a globally renowned reference that documents extraordinary achievements, unusual facts, and world records across various categories.
