Sipán archaeological site

The Sipán archaeological site, located in northern Peru, is famous for its rich tombs and artifacts from the Moche culture (circa 100-700 AD). Excavated from a burial mound called Huaca Rajada, it revealed the tomb of a powerful ruler known as the Lord of Sipán, along with jewelry, pottery, and gold ornaments. These discoveries provided valuable insights into Moche society, religion, and craftsmanship. The site is considered one of the most important archaeological finds in South America, offering a glimpse into an advanced pre-Columbian civilization that thrived along the coast.
