Sioux language

Sioux is a group of closely related Native American languages spoken by the Sioux people across the Great Plains. It belongs to the Siouan language family, characterized by complex vowel and consonant sounds, and features agglutinative grammar, meaning words are built with multiple attached parts to convey meaning. The language has several dialects, including Dakota, Lakota, and Nakota, each with unique pronunciation and vocabulary. Historically, Sioux was primarily an oral language, but efforts have been made to preserve and revitalize it through education and documentation. The language reflects the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the Sioux Nation.
