Simón Bolívar was a key leader and visionary in Latin America’s fight for independence from Spanish rule in the early 19th century. Born in Venezuela, he inspired and organized campaigns that liberated multiple countries, including Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia (which is named after him). Bolívar believed in unity and freedom, seeking to create strong, independent nations. His leadership and ideas significantly shaped the history and political landscape of South America, earning him the nickname “El Libertador” or “The Liberator.”
