Sima family

The Sima family was a prominent Chinese noble family that played a key role in the fall of the Western Jin Dynasty and the rise of the Jin Dynasty itself. They were influential military and political figures, with Sima Yi notably serving as a general and strategist. His descendants continued to hold power, eventually founding the Jin Dynasty in 265 CE after seizing control from the Han-led government. The family's prominence was marked by shifting from military leaders to imperial rulers, shaping Chinese history during the late Three Kingdoms and early Jin periods.
