Silk production process
Silk production begins with silkworms, which are caterpillars that spin silk fibers to make their cocoons. Farmers carefully raise the silkworms on mulberry leaves until they are ready to spin. The cocoons are then harvested and boiled to soften the sericin glue that holds the fibers together. After boiling, the softened silk fibers are unspooled from the cocoons in long strands. These strands are then cleaned, spun into threads, and woven into fabric. The entire process transforms natural silkworm secretions into the luxurious silk fabric used in clothing and textiles.
