Silk Making

Silk making, also known as sericulture, involves cultivating silkworms to produce silk fibers. The process begins with raising silkworms, primarily the species *Bombyx mori*, which feed on mulberry leaves. Once the larvae form cocoons, they are harvested and carefully boiled to kill them and unravel the silk thread. This thread is then cleaned, dyed, and woven into fabric. Silk has been valued for its sheen and softness and has a rich history, particularly in China, where it originated thousands of years ago. Today, silk is used in various textiles and luxury items globally.
