Silfra fissure

Silfra Fissure is a unique geological crack located in Þingvellir National Park in Iceland. It is a result of tectonic plate movements where the North American and Eurasian plates are slowly drifting apart, creating a deep, narrow canyon. What makes Silfra special is that it’s filled with crystal-clear glacial water, some of the purest on Earth, which has been filtered through underground lava rocks for decades. The visibility can reach over 100 feet, making it a popular site for snorkeling and diving, allowing people to observe vibrant underwater rock formations and the contrasting landscapes of two continents.
