Siege of Warsaw

The Siege of Warsaw in 1831 was a conflict during the Polish November Uprising against Russian control. Polish forces attempted to defend the city from a large Russian army seeking to suppress the rebellion. Encircled and outnumbered, the Poles fought fiercely to resist the invasion. Despite their determined resistance, the Russians eventually broke through, leading to the fall of Warsaw and a setback for Polish independence efforts. The siege highlighted the struggle of Poland to maintain its sovereignty amid larger imperial powers and remains a symbol of national resistance.
