Side Payments
Side payments are financial transactions made outside the usual contractual or official channels, often to influence decisions or gain favors. They can be used in business or government to sway negotiations, secure advantages, or bypass standard procedures. While sometimes legal, they can also be considered unethical or illegal if they involve corruption or bribery. Essentially, side payments are secret or informal payments made separately from official agreements, aimed at incentivizing certain actions or outcomes that benefit the payer.
