Sialendoscopy
Sialendoscopy is a minimally invasive medical procedure used to diagnose and treat problems in the salivary glands, which produce saliva. A small, flexible tube called a sialendoscope is inserted into the salivary duct opening in the mouth, allowing doctors to directly view the duct and glands. This technique helps remove blockages like stones, treat inflammation, or repair duct damage without large incisions. Because it’s minimally invasive, sialendoscopy typically results in less pain, quicker recovery, and fewer complications compared to traditional surgery.
