Shu (State of Shu)
The State of Shu was one of the three major kingdoms during China's Three Kingdoms period (circa 220-280 AD). It was located in the southwest region of China and was known for its mountainous terrain. Founded by Liu Bei, Shu is often characterized by its emphasis on benevolence and loyalty, particularly through its famous figures like Zhuge Liang, a brilliant strategist. The rivalry between Shu, Wei (north), and Wu (southeast) led to significant military conflicts and political intrigue, shaping Chinese history and inspiring many stories, including the famous novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms."
