Short-faced Bear

The Short-faced Bear was a large extinct mammal that lived during the Pleistocene epoch, roughly 500,000 to 10,000 years ago. It belonged to the same family as modern bears but was notably more massive and shorter in height, with a broad skull, powerful jaws, and strong limbs. It primarily inhabited North America and Eurasia and likely hunted large herbivores or scavenged carcasses. Its short face and robust build suggest adaptations for strength and endurance. The Short-faced Bear is considered one of the largest bears to have ever existed, measuring up to 12 feet tall when standing on hind legs.
