Shinkankakuha

Shinkankakuha, or the New Sensation School, was a Japanese artistic movement in the early 20th century that focused on capturing modern life through abstract and innovative forms. Artists sought to express the new sensations and perceptions brought about by rapid technological and social changes, moving away from traditional realism. They emphasized geometric shapes, bold lines, and vivid colors to evoke emotional and sensory experiences. This movement aimed to reflect Japan’s modernization and dynamic urban environment, blending Western influences with Japanese aesthetics to create a fresh, avant-garde visual language.
