Shichigosan
Shichigosan is a traditional Japanese rite of passage celebrated for children aged three, five, and seven. Held annually on November 15, families visit shrines to pray for their children's growth, health, and future success. The name derives from the special ages: "seven" (shichi), "five" (go), and "three" (san). Boys and girls dress in formal clothing—boys in hakama and girls in kimono—and participate in ritual offerings. It’s an important cultural occasion that emphasizes gratitude, protection, and blessing for children’s healthy development into adulthood.
