Shia-Sunni Relations

Shia and Sunni are the two main branches of Islam, sharing core beliefs but differing in historical and theological practices. The split originated over a dispute about who should succeed the Prophet Muhammad as leader, with Sunnis favoring elected leaders and Shias supporting the Prophet’s family.
