Sheshonk I, also known as Shishak in the Bible, was a pharaoh of Egypt who ruled during the 22nd Dynasty, around 945–924 BCE. He is notable for being the first Libyan ruler of Egypt and for his military campaigns, notably against the Kingdom of Judah, which he invaded around 925 BCE. His reign marked a significant period in Egyptian history, demonstrating the influence of Libyan leaders in Egypt and the shifting power dynamics of the region. Sheshonk I is also recognized for his contributions to building projects, including temples, which reflect the artistic and architectural styles of his time.
