Sherpa language

Sherpa language is a Tibeto-Burman language spoken mainly by the Sherpa people in the Himalayan regions of Nepal, Tibet, and India. It has its own unique script and shares linguistic features with other Tibeto-Burman languages. Sherpa is used daily for communication within communities, as well as in cultural and religious practices, especially associated with Tibetan Buddhism. While many Sherpa speakers also know Nepali or other regional languages, Sherpa remains an important part of their cultural identity and heritage. Its preservation helps maintain the community’s history, traditions, and social bonds.
