Shariah Supervisory Board

A Shariah Supervisory Board (SSB) is a panel of Islamic legal scholars and financial experts who oversee and ensure that a bank or financial institution’s products and operations comply with Islamic law (Shariah). They review contracts, investments, and practices to prevent anything that contradicts Islamic principles, such as usury (interest) or unethical dealings. The SSB provides guidance, approves new products, and continuously monitors the organization’s adherence to Shariah law. Their role helps Muslim customers trust that their financial dealings align with their faith while maintaining ethical standards.
