Shakti Peeths
Shakti Peeths are sacred sites in Hindu tradition believed to be locations where parts of the goddess Sati's body fell after her self-immolation and body was dismembered by Lord Shiva. These shrines are dedicated to goddess Shakti (or Devi) and are revered as powerful centers of divine energy and spiritual devotion. Each Peeth symbolizes a different aspect of the goddess and holds significant religious importance, attracting pilgrims seeking blessings, spiritual growth, and connection to the divine feminine. There are around 51 primary Shakti Peeths scattered across South Asia, making them central to the worship of goddess Shakti.
