Shakti Peethas
Shakti Peethas are sacred Hindu sites believed to be divine shrines dedicated to the goddess Shakti or Devi, representing her divine power. According to mythology, these sites arose from the goddess's body parts (such as eyes, breasts, or limbs) falling to Earth during the cosmic event of Lord Shiva's Tandava dance. Each Peetha is associated with a specific body part and is considered a powerful center of spiritual energy and worship. There are traditionally 51 or 52 such Peethas spread across South Asia, serving as important pilgrimage destinations for devotees seeking divine blessings, spiritual awakening, and salvation.
