Shahmukhi

Shahmukhi is a script used to write the Punjabi language, primarily in Pakistan. It is a variant of the Perso-Arabic script, written from right to left, incorporating Arabic and Persian influences. Unlike Gurmukhi, the script used in Indian Punjab, Shahmukhi utilizes Arabic letters with additional diacritical marks to represent Punjabi sounds. It enables Urdu and Punjabi speakers to communicate in their native script, maintaining cultural and linguistic connections. Shahmukhi is widely used in literature, newspapers, and everyday writing among Punjabi speakers in Pakistan.
