Shahar Committee

The Shahar Committee was an organization established in Israel in 1965 to study and recommend ways to improve the economic development of the country's border towns, known as "development towns." These towns were created to settle new populations and stimulate regional growth, especially in peripheral areas. The committee analyzed the challenges faced by these towns, such as economic stagnation and social issues, and proposed policies to boost their prosperity, infrastructure, and quality of life.
