Sexual Complementarianism
Sexual complementarianism is the belief that men and women have inherently different but complementary roles and characteristics, both biologically and spiritually. It typically emphasizes that men are designed for leadership and authority, while women are inclined toward nurturing and support. This viewpoint often extends to relationships, marriage, and church roles, advocating that these differences should be respected and maintained to fulfill a divinely intended order. While recognizing equal worth and dignity, complementarians see these roles as intentionally distinct rather than interchangeable, aiming to uphold a particular vision of harmony based on traditional interpretations of gender differences.
