Several Contracts
In a joint and several contract, two or more parties agree to share the responsibility for a contractual obligation. If they don’t fulfill the contract, any one of those parties can be held fully responsible for the entire obligation. This means if one party fails to pay or perform, the others are still liable to cover the whole amount. This arrangement offers protection to the party owed, ensuring they can seek compensation from any responsible party rather than being limited to pursuing only the defaulting member. Thus, it allows for flexibility in enforcing the contract.
