Sethianism

Sethianism is an ancient Gnostic spiritual movement originating in the 2nd century CE, centered around the figure of Seth, a righteous son of Adam and Eve. It views the material world as a flawed creation by a lesser, ignorant deity, and sees spiritual awakening as a journey to reclaim divine knowledge (gnosis) and return to a higher, true spiritual realm. Sethian texts often contain complex mythologies and emphasize internal enlightenment over external religious rituals. Their beliefs influence modern interpretations of Gnosticism, highlighting themes of duality, hidden knowledge, and spiritual liberation.
