Sesriem Canyon

Sesriem Canyon is a natural winding gorge located in Namibia’s Namib Desert, shaped by millions of years of erosion from the Tsauchab River. It stretches about 30 meters deep and 1 kilometer long, offering striking rock formations and scenic views. The canyon is a popular destination for explorers and nature enthusiasts, providing opportunities for hiking and photography. Its name, "Sesriem," comes from early settlers who used the area to gather water by tying multiple leather thongs (or "riems") together to reach underground water sources. The canyon’s unique geology and striking landscape make it a notable feature in the region.
