Serpents

Serpents are long, legless reptiles belonging to the snake family. They have flexible bodies covered in scales, with no eyelids or external ears, and move by slithering on the ground. Serpents are found in diverse environments worldwide and play important roles in ecosystems as predators of rodents and insects. Many species are venomous, using their venom to subdue prey, while others are harmless. Their evolutionary adaptations allow them to navigate terrains efficiently, and they reproduce through oviposition (eggs) or live birth, depending on species.
