Serious Organized Crime Agency (SOCA)
The Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) was a UK law enforcement organization responsible for tackling organized crime such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, fraud, and illegal arms dealing. It coordinated efforts across various agencies to investigate and dismantle criminal networks involved in complex, large-scale illegal activities. SOCA aimed to protect communities by disrupting serious crime, gathering intelligence, and working with international partners. In 2013, it was replaced by the National Crime Agency (NCA), which continues similar efforts under a broader mandate to combat serious and organized crime across the UK.
