Serial Reaction Time Task

The Serial Reaction Time Task (SRTT) is a psychological experiment used to study how people learn and predict sequences. Participants see a series of lights or signals and quickly press corresponding buttons. Unknown to them, the lights often follow a pattern. Over time, people become faster and more accurate as they implicitly learn this pattern, even if they can't consciously say what it is. The SRTT helps researchers understand how the brain learns sequences and develops motor skills, especially related to implicit learning—learning without conscious awareness.
