Serbian Empire

The Serbian Empire, which existed from the early 14th century to the mid-15th century, was a medieval state that emerged from the Kingdom of Serbia. It reached its peak under Tsar Stefan Dušan, who expanded its territory to include much of the Balkans. The empire promoted Serbian culture, Orthodox Christianity, and a centralized government. However, it weakened after Dušan's death and faced pressures from the Ottoman Turks. Despite its relatively short duration, the Serbian Empire played a significant role in the region's history and laid the foundations for modern Serbian identity and statehood.
