Sensualism
Sensualism is a philosophical perspective that emphasizes the importance of sensory experience—seeing, hearing, touching, tasting, and smelling—as the primary basis for understanding reality and gaining knowledge. It holds that our perceptions through the senses are the most reliable source of information about the world. Sensualism often contrasts with rationalism, which stresses reason and logic. In practice, sensualism encourages appreciating and valuing our direct, immediate experiences, seeing them as fundamental to perception, learning, and enjoyment of life.
