sensory stimuli

Sensory stimuli are signals from your environment that your senses detect, such as light, sound, smell, taste, and touch. These stimuli are captured by specialized sensory organs—eyes, ears, skin, tongue, and nose—and then sent as electrical signals to your brain. Your brain interprets these signals to help you understand what’s around you, allowing you to see colors, hear sounds, feel textures, taste flavors, and smell odors. In essence, sensory stimuli are the information your body gathers from the world, enabling you to respond appropriately and stay aware of your surroundings.
