Sensory Affordances
Sensory affordances refer to the cues or signals in an environment that suggest how something can be interacted with, based on our senses. For example, the texture of a button indicates it can be pressed, or the brightness of a light suggests it is on or off. These sensory clues help us understand what actions are possible and guide our interactions naturally. In essence, sensory affordances use our senses—sight, touch, hearing—to communicate how objects or spaces can be used, making interactions intuitive without needing explicit instructions.
