Sensemaking Theory

Sensemaking Theory is the process by which individuals interpret and give meaning to complex or uncertain situations. It involves gathering information, recognizing patterns, and constructing understanding to navigate unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances. People use their past experiences, social interactions, and available cues to create a coherent story that guides their decisions and actions. Essentially, sensemaking helps us make sense of what’s happening around us so we can respond effectively, especially when faced with new or confusing environments.
