Seneca people
The Seneca are a Native American people belonging to the Iroquois Confederacy, also known as the Haudenosaunee. Historically inhabiting parts of what is now western New York, they are recognized for their rich cultural traditions, social organization, and long history of diplomacy and conflict with European settlers. The Seneca played a significant role in regional politics and are known for their strong connection to the land, traditional crafts, storytelling, and ceremonies. Today, they continue to preserve their heritage through cultural practices and maintain sovereignty over their reservations and communal lands.
