Sender Policy Framework (SPF)
Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an email authentication method that helps prevent email spoofing. It works by allowing domain owners to specify which mail servers are authorized to send emails on their behalf. When an email is received, the recipient’s email system checks the sender’s domain records to verify if the email was sent from an approved server. If it matches, the email passes SPF validation; if not, it may be marked as suspicious or blocked. This process helps reduce spam and phishing attacks by ensuring emails are genuinely from the claimed sender.
