Senate leadership
Senate leadership refers to the core members responsible for guiding and organizing the Senate, which is part of the U.S. Congress. The main leaders include the Senate Majority Leader, who sets the legislative agenda and schedules debates, and the Minority Leader, who represents the opposition. The Senate President, traditionally the Vice President, presides over sessions but has limited power. Additionally, the Senate’s President Pro Tempore, usually the longest-serving member of the majority party, chairs sessions when the Vice President isn't present. These leaders help coordinate Senate activities, facilitate discussions, and ensure the Senate functions smoothly.
