Seleka

Seleka is a coalition of armed groups primarily composed of Muslim fighters that formed in the Central African Republic in 2012. They aimed to overthrow the government but quickly gained control of significant parts of the country. Their rule was marked by instability, violence, and human rights abuses, leading to widespread fear and suffering among civilians. In response, a mainly Christian militia called Anti-Balaka emerged to oppose them. The conflict involving Seleka has caused ongoing political instability and humanitarian crises in the region.
