Selegiline

Selegiline is a medication primarily used to treat Parkinson's disease and depression. It works by increasing levels of certain chemicals in the brain called dopamine and norepinephrine, which help improve mood, movement, and alertness. It does this by blocking an enzyme called MAO-B that breaks down these chemicals. By doing so, selegiline helps alleviate symptoms like tremors, rigidity, and low mood. It is often prescribed when other treatments are not fully effective. As with any medication, it should be used under medical supervision due to potential interactions and side effects.
