Sekigahara (Battle of Sekigahara)

The Battle of Sekigahara, fought in 1600 in Japan, was a decisive conflict that ended the country’s era of civil war. It pitted the forces loyal to Toyotomi Hideyoshi's successors against a coalition led by Tokugawa Ieyasu, who sought control. The battle's outcome favored Ieyasu, leading to his establishment of the Tokugawa Shogunate, which unified Japan and maintained peace for more than two centuries. This event is considered the turning point that shaped Japan's political landscape during the early modern period.
