sedentary adaptation

Sedentary adaptation refers to how the body adjusts when a person engages in little to no physical activity over an extended period. When movement decreases, muscles weaken and lose mass, bones may become less dense, and cardiovascular fitness can decline. These changes are the body's way of conserving energy in response to decreased demand. While some adaptation is natural, prolonged sedentary behavior can negatively impact overall health, increasing risks for conditions such as obesity, heart disease, and osteoporosis. Regular activity helps prevent or mitigate these adaptations, promoting strength, endurance, and well-being.
