Security Containment

Security containment is a process used to limit the spread of a security threat, such as malware or an intrusion, within a network or system. When a threat is detected, containment measures isolate affected components—like disconnecting infected devices or restricting user access—preventing the problem from spreading further. This helps protect the rest of the network, minimize damage, and allows security teams to investigate and remove the threat more effectively. Essentially, it acts as a targeted "firebreak," containing the issue so it doesn't affect other parts of the system.
