Secular Franciscan Order
The Secular Franciscan Order (OFS) is a religious community of laypeople committed to living out the Gospel and the teachings of St. Francis of Assisi in everyday life. Members, or Secular Franciscans, do not take monastic vows but aim to embody qualities like humility, penance, and service while remaining active in their families, workplaces, and communities. They gather regularly for prayer, reflection, and support, striving to bring spiritual values into all aspects of daily living. The order encourages a shared commitment to simplicity, compassion, and social justice, fostering a deeper connection to God while engaging actively with the world.
