Section 301 of the Trade Act

Section 301 of the Trade Act grants the U.S. government the authority to investigate and respond to unfair trade practices or policies by other countries that harm American industries or consumers. If a country restricts U.S. exports, imposes unfair trade barriers, or engages in practices like intellectual property theft, the U.S. can conduct an investigation and, if warranted, impose tariffs, sanctions, or other measures to address the issue. The aim is to protect U.S. economic interests and encourage fair trade relations.
